RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT

Palm research projects are carried out in conjunction with NIFOR (Nigerian Institute for Oil Palm Research) on control of Rhynchophorus using pheromone traps, and on use of slow-release fertilizers in mature palms. We also collaborate with other research institutions on diseases such as Ganoderma and Fusarium wilt. Large Scale Clonal Trial (LSCT) for production evaluation under local conditions is in progress. This long-term trial plot was set up in 2015 under the guidance of the Socfin Agriculture Rubber Department.
