Okomu Oil Palm Company Plc., has held it fortieth Annual General Meeting (AGM) amidst the coronavirus pandemic.
The AGM which was held in Lagos attracted less than 20 participants physically
present at the venue of the meeting in line with the federal government’s
restriction on gatherings of persons due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Other stakeholders of the company from within and outside the country had
earlier before the meeting sent their proxy through those present while they
watch the meeting via a virtual connectivity through the company’s website,
www.okomunigeria.com.
Some Non Executive Directors watched the live proceedings of the meeting from
the office of the Managing Director.
Those who attended the meeting at the main estate include, the Esogban of
Benin, Chief David Edebiri, Mr. Peter Eguasa (JP), Rev. Leonard Ohenhen, Rev.
Andrew Imadu, the Company’s Chief Internal Auditor, Mr. Wilfred Okoro, State
Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Agriculture and Allied Employees, Mr. Benson
Imasuen and his Okomu branch counterpart, Mr. Kennedy Onyesom.
Some of the resolution at the end of the 40 th AGM was the re-election of Mr.
Peter Eguasa (JP), Mr. Luc Boedt as non executive directors as well as Mr. Asue
Ighodaro as Independent Non Executive Director. Also Mr. Leonard Ohenhen, Mr.
Igbrude Moses and Mr. Imade Andrew were also returned as members of the
Audit Committee.
A dividend of 2 naira per share was announced.
