The rich culture of the various ethnic groups in Nigeria took centre stage on Friday 12th July when pupils of Okomu Staff School held their 2019 cultural day celebration. The event is in recognition of the significance of a people’s culture as their identity and also that the best time to teach children their culture is at the early stages of their lives. Welcoming parents and guardians to the cultural day celebration, Headmistress of the school, Mrs. Gloria Izevbigbe said the day was set aside by management of the school to further enlighten the pupils on the importance of culture to human existence. She advised parents and care-giver to always teach children and wards their various cultural values so as to prevent our cultures from going into extinction. The children dressed in their various tradition attires thrilled their audience with different cultural displays The cultural day celebration is an annual event in the Okomu Staff Primary School.
