The 2018/2019 graduation ceremony of Okomu Staff Primary school has been held with a charge on the graduating pupils and their teachers to maintain the high standard the school is known for.
Managing Director Okomu Oil Palm Company Plc, Dr Graham Hefer, who gave this charge while addressing the grandaunts, said management will ensure that the pupils in the school will get the best quality of education as the company will continually provide the necessary resources to achieve quality learning at the school.
Dr Hefer congratulated the graduating pupils and said the next stage of their lives requires them to be more focused, dedicated and committed to their academics in order to be successful and responsible citizens.
He also encouraged other pupils who were not among the graduating class to aspire to be like the graduands and to even surpass the achievements of the graduating pupils.
He challenged the teachers to be creative and innovative in their approach to teaching and training the pupils,especially in the use of modern technologies.
Chairman of the occasion, Mr Kelly Eguakun, while congratulating the graduating pupils he urged them to be more committed to their academics as according to him the society is currently in need of graduates who are ready to impact positively in the advancement of the economy. Mr Eguakun also commended management of OOPC for their efforts in the academic development of the pupils, stressing that the investment of the company in areas of academics cannot be quantified.
According to the Headmistress of the school Mrs Gloria Izevbigie, 49 pupils graduated to junior secondary school.Awards were presented to pupils who did exceptionally well during the promotion examination, and some distinguished teachers.
